ZON ZIEN ZAKKEN IN DE ZEE

About this project

Zon Zien Zakken in de Zee is an atmospheric, functional platform that shows visitors exactly when the sun rises and sets at Katwijk aan Zee beach, alongside live weather and tide information. The idea is simple, but the design had to make that calm, sunset-at-the-beach feeling tangible from the first glance. The interface is built around a living sky that shifts colour with the time of day, with the key information (sunrise, sunset, temperature) visible at a glance. Small extras like 'did you know' facts about tides and moon phases give the site a personal, almost journal-like character, fitting for a site built around taking a moment of calm.
